Happy Birthday Celine

Today is my niece Celine's 1st birthday! It just seemed like yesterday that she was born. I just wish that she lived a little closer than California just so that I could see her more. I'm just so happy that she is healthy and a very active little girl. She is walking already and starting to form real words in both German and English.

I love you Celine!

Finals

YEAH!!! The semester is finally over. I had my last final today and that was in the only class that I thought that I would get a "B" in. Well let's just say that I got an "A". I was super excited when I logged on to my student account and discovered that there was just a line of "A's" down the page. I'm so excited right now. This would have been an awesome day if only my car hadn't been hit today. I went to take Mario and Isabella their Christmas gifts and so my car was in the drive way. Well the cleaning lady went to leave and she side swiped my car. The car is still drivable and there is only cosmetic damage to it. I'm just relieved that the cleaning lady had insurance to fix the car.

First Snow

On Tuesday the 9th, Winfield got 1.5 inches of snow. There were drifts everywhere and I went to school and decided to drive in it. The snow wouldn't have been so bad if it hadn't rained prior to the snow fall, ending in the rain turning into ice. But Tuesday wasn't so bad driving to school. The real problem was on Wednesday. I was going to class, driving cautiously might I add, when my car hit a slick spot. After the slick spot there was nothing I could do to keep my car from sliding into the nearest ditch. That's right I ended up in the ditch. I however kept my car from hitting any of the road signs that were very close to where I ended up. A kind man came and help push my car out and everything was good....that is until I went to drive home. The roads were fine late in the afternoon so I figured I could go the speed limit which is 70 mph. Ha Ha. I guess when my car went into the ditch something miss-aligned my front wheels. I can only go 60 mph before my steering wheel starts shaking violently. Yikes! I'm just hoping that there is packed snow in there that is causing the off balance. I'm sure everything will be fine and dandy.

Life's Little Suprises

Well today started off like any other day, little did I know what was in store for me. My 11:00 Biology class got canceled, so I went and saw Brady at 11 then I was off to work at 1. Work was slow, since it was 37* outside, and there was paperwork to be done. The occasional customer would wonder in to do their Christmas shopping for the golfer in their family. Well one customer was different than all the rest. This lady was in yesterday and bought a shirt for a family member. She talked to me yesterday about my future plans at K-State and she also mentioned that she remembers having me in class as a substitute teacher. Well back to today. This lady came into the shop today carrying a card. She asked what my last name was, then realizing who my mother is, and then for my first name. She asked me kindly to read the card in front of her. The card was a story about her nephew and what she does for his birthday every year. Well she gives a gift to someone and makes sure that the gift will help that person in their future. This lady decided to give me this gift. She choose to give me $400 to put toward my dorm room down payment at K-State. I couldn't believe it when I opened the card. That is such a generous gift and she choose me. It is wonderful to know that there is truly nice people in our world with all the events that are going on. The only request was that I would keep her name confidential so I will do that but I must tell people about her generosity towards others, especially since she does this every year.

Life's Little Lessons

This is a fairytale that should gave been read to us when we were little:
Once upon a time in a land far away,
A beautiful, independent, self-assured princess happened upon a frog as she sat contemplating ecological issues on the shores of an unpolluted pond in a verdant meadow near her castle.
The frog hopped into the princess' lap and said: "Elegant Lady, I was once a handsome prince, until an evil witch cast a spell upon me. One kiss from you, however, and I well turn back into the dapper, young prince I am and then, my sweet, we can marry and set up housekeeping in your castle with my mother, where you can prepare my meals, clean my clothes, bear my children, and forever feel grateful and happy doing so."
That night, as the princess dined sumptuously on a lightly sauteed frog legs seasoned in a white wine and onion cream sauce, she chuckled and thought to herself: "I don't frickin' think so."

So remember a guy may seem great on the outside but ends up being the frog. I have met guys like this so always proceed with caution, I know I am. I'm also told that when you meet the right guy everything in your past is well worth it.

If Everyone was so Lucky.

In the past few months, my life has gone through some changes. I got promoted at work, ended a year long relationship, and found some amazing friends. I'm very thankful for one in peticular, Melissa Barr. We both work together at Quail Ridge Golf Course and we both were having similar relationship problems at the same time, but lets not forget that our personalities are compatible enough to allow us the be the BEST OF FRIENDS. I don't know what I would do without this girl. We would both be bored if we didn't have each other to entertain the other. We also hang out with the "Boys". What would we do without them? Jared, Kenneth, and Ryan (enought said). I'm just so lucky to have such wonderful friends.
