Manhattan!!!

Thursday was my last day of work at Quail Ridge. It was a relief to not have to work any more but everyone there will be dearly missed. Marcia threw a party for everyone who was leaving.
Here are some pictures from it:This is the amazing TV that Jim and Marcia got me for my dorm room.

Well it is official. I am now a resident of Haymaker Hall at Kansas State University. I moved in this morning and some things are still in boxes but for the most part everything is in somewhat of an order. Here are some before and after pictures of my Room.

=left>And here is the view I have from my window of the intersection of Claflin Road and Manhattan Avenue. It isn't the quietist intersection but I can live with it.

Here's a funny story of what happened this evening. I got back from eating dinner at Christie's, dinner was awesome btw Christie. Well I'm relaxing in my room listening to music and on the computer and two girls knock on my door. Well the location of my room is right across the hall from the bathroom and let's say the girls didn't have any clothing with them and all they had on were towels. The story is the girls locked their key in their room and didn't want to go down to the front dest in just their towels to get their key. So they knocked on my door and of course I went down to the lobby for them and luckily our RA was in the lobby and she came up and unlocked the door for the girls. Lesson here is always take your key even if you think the door is unlocked. I just thought that was an interesting way to meet some new people on my first night here.

Change in Plans

Well tomorrow is my last day of work at Quail Ridge Golf Course. It is going to be bitter sweet to leave since many people will be missed but I'm looking forward the the new adventures that I'm going to have when school starts up. I was originally planning on staying with Christie for a week starting Sunday, unfortunatly some plans may have changed. I was going to move into the dorms on Saturday the 22nd but with the camp that I'm going to, the schedule doesn't allow anytime for move in. I was told by one of the directors of the band that the official move in for the band is on Monday the 17th. I could also move in on Sunday the 23rd but classes start the next day and I'm thinking I am going to need more time to adjust before class starts. I'm excited to meet my new roommate Emma though. Also, moving in on Monday will allow me to have the pick of what side of the room and everything like that. I want the bed that isn't infront of the door.

20 Years Have Passed

As of yesterday I am now 20 years old. My cousin Jessica and her boyfriend Kurtis came down to help celebrate my birthday along with my Aunts Brenda and Peggy. Christie also came down for a wedding and helped celebrate with everyone. My Aunt Brenda made me a cake and it was amazing. The cake had a huge powercat on top. We went to the fair and went to the demo derby and then went to the casino on Saturday night. I ended up winning a little money at the casino and I got to play on some of the casino's money since it was my birthday. They even announced my name over the casino's intercom. Thank you to everyone who helped me celebrate my birthday and wished me a happy birthday.
The next step is to get packed up and move up to Manhattan in the next two weeks.

Congratulations Christie

Last Wednesday my sister Christie passed her state boards for Optometry. So this means she is finally legal to practice as a Doctor here in Kansas. The whole family is proud of her and what she has accomplished!! WAY TO GO CHRISTIE!!!!

Update

Wow!! It has been a long time since I last blogged. Let's just say that the time has gotten away from me in the last semester at Cowley and the busy summer with teaching the New Managers how to run the shop.

Well in about a month I will officailly be moved to Manhattan, Kansas. Needless to say I'm super excited to move and get started in a new town, not that I don't love Winfield. I will miss the people at work but I'm not going to miss work. These past few months have been so stressfull after Ryan our head pro left and I'm ready for all the fun that I'm going to have next year. One thing I'm really looking forward to is to be part of the Kansas State Marching Band. What is more perfect than free football games with amazing seats all season? However they do come with a cost of working my butt off on the field all week to put on an amazing show. I will also enjoy being able to see my cousin Jessica and sister Christie on a regular basis. There are plenty new and exciting adventures yet to come!!!

Summer Lovin' Having a Blast

It is always fun to talk to somebody that you haven't talked to in years. Well when Jeff played baseball for the Winfield Warriors, he played with Garrett Bane who had an older brother that was my age Quinton Bane. Well it turns out that Quinton goes to Cowley College. He plays baseball for the Tigers. I realized that he went there because I parked by a black truck with the #10 Winfield Warriors sticker in the back window, that was Garrett's number, so I put two and two together. I know this is weird since the last time that we saw each other was when we were both 14. I will admit that I had a crush on him back then but quickly realized that we were only 14 and he lived in a different town. I never forgot Quinton especially since I did like him alot those 3 to 4 summers that we spent together. Well we recently started talking with each other and it is fun to talk to him especially with the ease that we talk, much easier that when we were younger. Unfortunatly I never knew how he felt, but at times he seemed like he was flirting with me so naturally I flirted back.
Well Janessa and I have decided that we are going to go to a Cowley Baseball game, in addition to going to a Winfield Viking basketball game. I have always wanted to go to a Cowley sporting event and this one just sounds fun plus Cowley has one of the best baseball teams anyway.
